Trying really hard to remember what happened yesterday, all I could remember was almost dying of hunger 3ish mid-afternoon with nothing to eat. Okay, so I must have been at least somewhat productive because my Inbox is all cleared out at that moment, and the questionnaire requested by my boss done too. Oh right, it's coming back to me. Waking up about 7ish, I hopped to breakfast with my boss only to leave the table quarter past 10am. The rest of the morning till afternoon was spent in my room drafting emails while multi-tasking. At some point, the tummy started to become too demanding that I couldn't tahan it anymore and set out to find food. But lucky me, there weren't that many restaurants around to begin with, and since it was between meal time, kitchens were closed! Then finally, I found a cafe serving lasagna. No seconds wasted, I grabbed a seat and enjoyed away while people-watched.
(This spinach lasagna was surprisingly pretty good - even with hot chocolate combo!)
The night was booked off for a dinner gathering at the famous Chateau d'Ouchy. Definitely a top-notch restaurant with great ambiance and delicate dishing. Though, a sitting from 7pm to 10:30pm usually weren't so painful, the jetlag really didn't help. If I caved to my needs, I would have been face flat on the dining table seated with our Executive Board members and two special IOC & ASOIF guests. Being the dedicated PA that I am, there was no way I would let my boss down, so I fought the sleepiness and made it till the end. The bed was all that was on my mind post-dessert. Side note: I can't believe I managed to unzip my dress all by myself! Yes, I did have to ask the waitress at the restaurant to help me zip it all the way up prior to the guest arriving. It was either that, or keeping my snow jacket on the whole night, so duh I asked for help. And good thing I did. Which reminds me, I shall never buy dresses I can't suit myself.
(Salmon with avocado - never thought this combo would be any good together, but it's SO good together *drool*)
(Delicious steak - tender and juicy)
(This was just a little too much per person! At least I dragged myself to try all four)
(Crazy cinnamony- flavoured ice-cream on the right, and super fruity with a strong punch of alcoholic cream pie on the left)
(My favourite Chamomile tea with hazelnut biscuits - if I weren't falling asleep, I would have had the whole basket of them! Sooooo good!)

With meeting at 9am, I had schedule to wake up around 7:50am only to be disrupted by jetlag, waking up before the sunshine at 6:30am. Annoyed, I stayed in bed to try and sneak back into my dreams, but to no avail. So I got up and took a quick shower. For some reason, I was more keened to take showers here. Maybe it's got to do with the weather being so frozen.
Quick to finish breakfast, I rushed to the meeting room to set up my base camp even though I wasn't on Minute duty. So began the whole reason I'm in Lausanne - EB Meeting. For the most part, there wasn't anything being discussed that I didn't already know, but it was good to be here to hear it all. Lunch was delicious and before you know it, the meeting was done around 4ish pm! That was sure a record-breaker. Returning back to my room, I sent the last project over to my boss and chillaxed while waiting for the second meeting to finish - this second batch wanted to join the first batch at the Ice Cross Downhill World Championships.
(Not sure whether avocado is a preferred starter dish ingredient, but it's BAM good!)
(Fishy finally, after all the meats. I would imagine seafood would be quite fresh here...)
(Sinfully delicious that I restricted myself to only half the cup)
Minutes turned to hours, and soon it was past 6pm. It was then that I figured I probably won't have enough energy to go all the way there myself, and with live updates from the event, there was no way I was up to join a human squish-a-thon. So, I googled about and found a local restaurant named Cafe du Vieil to crash for dinner. Now recapping the last couple of days, I may possibly be breaking record myself: sleeping before 11pm! Checking in, it's 9:30pm right now. After a battle shower and cool down, I shall be ready for bed. Ah, what would I do without you, bed? Thank you for all my sweet dreams.
(Veal in mushroom with rosti: Definitely a must-try here in Lausanne!)
From Lausanne, Good Night world!
Jessy over and out.
