Life's Surprises

Dear pipsqueaks,

Just this Friday as the clock turned 11:57pm, the almost never-rung doorbell of my home ding-donged. I remember brushing it off as next door's ring, but felt I should at least go take a look in case anything happens. It's just abnormal at this hour for anyone to be visiting. So I sneaked quietly to the door, trying to take a peek through the hole to see who it could be at this hour, only to find the hole blocked. If I were home alone, I would probably have freaked out by then, but luckily, I wasn't.

Then, all of a sudden, light came through. I could make out a face hiding behind a white camera. Could this be...?!

In shock, I slowly opened the door thinking I must be dreaming because the person standing before me had just messaged me a few hours ago noting she'll be taking a nap...and here she stood at my door. What in the world was my best friend doing HERE in KL at this hour? Of course, she just thought to drop by and give me a surprise. I was surprised alright. Jaws practically dropped to the ground!

I hadn't enjoyed surprises in a while, but this one - sure was a much-appreciated one. I know the pains of flying and traveling, so I know how much of a hassle it was to come by just for 1.5 days. Now I can say, "people" are willing to fly for me.

Thanks babe. I needed some familiarity, and now that you've gone home, my place feels extra empty. Way to make me miss you! I shall try that next time :)

(A pleasant surprise, indeed. Until next time my BFF...)
