So Far into 2013

Dear pipsqueaks,

It's been a long while since my last update, but I assure you, I'm ALIVE! The days have been filled with catching up at work and with friends since my return from CNY in Taiwan. Honestly feels like time has been doing laps around me. All of a sudden, we're coming to March! No sooner had I unpacked my luggage, I will be packing for Lausanne...

Those who sourly congratulate me for work traveling, you don't know half the story. From contemplating what to pack, to actually packing, to lacking sleep due to over-thinking, to waking up early for final packing, to rushing breakfast, to hopping on a 1hr taxi to the airport hoping there's no traffic, to successfully checking in my luggage without over-weighing, to trying to catch some zZz on the flight, to landing and finding my luggage on the belt, to organizing transportation to the hotel, and finally checking into my room without any glitch. Then, the REAL work begins.

It's not so much all the action to take, but rather the fact that something ALWAYS goes wrong when I travel. So even with a simple luggage delay, I'd be screwed for a day of meetings without proper wear. Or, traffic jam to miss my flight - I'm usually one of the last ones to fly already, so to reschedule will mean I arrive late. No matter what happens, any change to my plan will cause ripples of headache - which I will have to work through the week with...

In any case, nothing stops me from doing my work with the quality I expect from myself. I shall overcome this tiredness of traveling, and enjoy the work that I like doing. Plus, I'm staying an extra two days to check out Lausanne and Geneva! That should be fun...I think? Even though I haven't really done much research, it can wait till the weekend.

On a second happier note, I've been having my dosage of Malaysia CNY with steamboat gatherings - of course the Yee Sang too. Yee Sang gives me so many ideas as to what else we could be tossing, but we'll not get into that. A more normal post shall be up when I get around it this weekend...putting my head back on as I may have lost it this morning. Ciao for now.

(This is what a group of girls can do with a plate of Yee Sang - no plate would be big enough!)
