Seriously, Common Sense

Dear pipsqueaks,

Sometimes, during those "do u think ever think with ur brain?" moments, u wonder if we even have the same common sense anymore. I've always thought some things were a given- so obvious that there shouldn't be any questions- but again n again, I'm brought to doubt the level of IQ & EQ of people nowadays.

A short list of common sense that I think are quite self-explanatory...

In the office:

• close ur office door when ur having a private conversation or when u think its too loud outside- ur the one with an office door, duh, use it
• put in a new jug of water when u finish the one in the dispenser- ur a member of the office, so take some responsibility
• ur 10 minutes is worth the same as anyone else's 10 minutes- don't be conveniently inconvenient to others
• unless it's an emergency, ur family should NOT be calling the office 3x a day- that's why u have a cellphone, use it
• if it isn't urs, don't touch it
• if u aren't in the conversation to begin with, don't ask
• respect others' privacy
• always, always, always think before u do or speak

In general:

• wait until people exit before entering- there's no room for u to stand INSIDE if u don't let people OUT
• don't stand in the middle of the walkway blocking the whole traffic, n get upset that people keep bumping into u- eh hm, UR the problem, not others
• stop talking when the movie starts- no one paid to come here to hear ur conversations over the movie- also, CELL PHONES SHOULD BE SILENT! 
• line up when there should be a line- ur not an exception to the general public, so get the f*ck in line
• respect others' personal space- there's really no need to be THIS close when we have so much space
• use "please" "excuse me " "thank you"- no one owes it to u to do ANYTHING for u, so be nice
• don't be trying to vocalise the song ur listening to on your headphones in public- no one needs to hear ur version of what could've been an amazing song

...and the list goes on n on! But u get the point. These are so common sense, it was a little difficult to jot them down because they should really be INGRAINED deep enough that it's automatic. That's probably why I'm always baffled when people don't know these unwritten rules of life. Not sure whether I should be facepalming myself or them...

Anyway, use this any way u like- as a reminder or to share with others who u feel needs the "wake up n smell the real world" call. 

Common sense: it's so easy, u shouldn't have to be told.
