Dear Pipsqueaks,
I decided to sleep in a little longer this morning. Why? BECAUSE a false alarm went on around 2am and woke everyone up. We heard a few other doors open and close. Then called the receptionist to check that everything was alright. Oh - I got real annoyed with the receptionist for hanging up on me without saying anything more than, "it was a false alarm." I know it's not her fault personally, but she represents the hotel. She should have at least said something along the lines of, "Apologies for the false alarm. Everything is okay. Good night." People in the customer service industry these days. Come on, you're a customer elsewhere. So you should know better. Tsk.
We had a less than impressive buffet breakfast at Lone Pine. I filled my tummy with a waffle drizzle with chocolate sauce and headed to the pool to read while my friend went for a dip. I quite like how we did this trip - making an effort to stay put and just enjoy the hotel. I mean, we did fork over a chunk of papers with dollar signs on them for the room, so we should make the most of it. And we did!
Rushed to pack it all, we were soon on our way to meet up with our friends for lunch at Tai Tong in Teluk Bahang. It's near where people take boats out to the islands. They make a meal curry sauce that goes well with their prawns. Fish was also fresh. If you're wondering where to go for a meal, then check this place out.

We rotated taking the wheel on our way back. There wasn't a jam, but everyone seemed to be on a weekend drive. Well, technically it was the weekend, but too slow for highway la! Not to mention it started to rain again midway, then left right we saw two accidents not far from one another. One involving an SUV crashing into the island between the two directions and the other a 40-feet truck in a mix with a smaller vehicle. People, it's just rain. It doesn't mean you should drive as fast as you normally do, but it also means you need to keep a consistent speed. It's the HIGHWAY. If your too slow, move to the left lane. Common sense. And if you want to risk your life and have a need for speed, then don't take anyone else out with you along the way please. On behalf of all the other safe drivers out there, thank you.
It was nice going away from the usual scene to a new or different environment. I feel more refreshed and somewhat lighter, despite the amount of work I'm coming back to. That's why we go for holidays, no? Just to forget about this world for a little while and get lost exploring a different one.
'Not all who wander are lost.'
That's how we stay inspired about life!
Keep calm and explore on.
