(pre-Phuket short blab while i waited at the airport...)
After several attempts to make pre-arrangements for my Phuket trip, I've officially given up on those non-responsive tour agencies. Though, I can't really blame them because it seems the world had unconsciously created a "norm" that's insensitive to single travellers. "tour for 2", "dinner set for 2", "tickets for 2", etc. What are we- the lone explorers- suppose to do with that?! I know it's more cost-effective for them to schedule that way, but seriously, it just singles out the singles even more- thanks for the reminder, guys! *geez* That's quite alright, where there's a will, there's a way. I'll just team up with a stranger when I'm there- done n done!
Now that I think about it, the unspoken rule's everywhere! Remember prom? "Who're u going to prom with?", "bf's gonna be leaving the day before for nationals, so I guess I'll be going by myself", "oh! U sure? U can go with someone else.", "yah, xxx asked but it's alright", "hm. Suit urself, but u can go with me if u change ur mind", "..." So u see, apparently it's weird going to prom alone. Just like going to watch a movie, eating out, shopping/walking around, etc. Actually, a lot of things are only sold in pairs, like chopsticks, speakers, n stupid phuket tours- yes, I'm being sour. Bite me. Everyone tends to give the odd one out the odd look (yes, I'm sitting here in marry brown waiting for my flight n I got 3 tables of people peeping at me, n no, I'm not in some weird costume, even though halloween's just around the corner *lightbulb*). Anyways, now even I'm conscious of sitting here by myself. If only Air Asia flights are ever on time (though, I do appreciate the text message alert for delayed departure). So begins my Phuket adventure...
Do u think ur nose n mouth were ever envious of ur eyes n ears?
