When To Press "Reset"

Dear pipsqueaks,

On the rare occasion that I feel slightly zombie-like, floating through the days, it is really a sign to "reset" myself. Just to clarify, I don't mean to go back to zero n question all the changes n life events that had happened so far up to this point, but rather, readjust to the new position that I've found myself to be in. Think about it this way, even computers need to re-configurate to "clean up" all the files n make sure they're in order of some form that is understandable to them to allow efficient processing n functioning (yes- I know computers don't actually "think" but u know what I mean). As we're commonly compared with these mighty machines, we do come out the superior- being described as the most sophisticated "computers" in the sense that not only do we store n process data, we have the ability to process them with thoughts n feelings (which usually is what it comes down to when it counts). So, of course, once in a while, we may feel "lost" or "confused" because everything has an effect on us one way or another n it requires a certain method- which differs between individuals- to address these "events".

Now, how we each come to understand how we "function" is the key here. For me- and I believe this is what many people prefer- I take trips n go somewhere I've never been. In a way, it's to throw myself totally off balance to regain it at this "time" and "place". I guess, in computer terms, u would call it "reboot to upgrade". (That's why I'll be heading to Phuket next week! Well, not entirely why but I figured since everything seems to work out that I go, I should go!) On another level, it would lead me to appreciate n put certain things into perspective- which happens to be some of the important considerations we tend to dull down when we fall into life's routines. Anyways, the point here is to recognize that "glitch" in ur system n fix it so u can move forward, n set urself up to be in the right place to go further. For without a stable platform, even the best jumper will have difficulty making a perfect landing. Agreed.

On the other hand, this shouldn't be used as an excuse to "run from ur problems". It's not for that purpose n honestly, ur problems'll probably just wait for u to make a loop around the world till u bump right into them again. This "removal from routine" is only one of many many ways people who need to regroup themselves can try. I'm sure there are tons of other ways- except, when I want to say one for an example, I can't think of one *facepalm*. Anyways, we all need some reconfiguration at some point, n don't wait till u have a full system shut down to attempt saving urself. So, for ur own sake, "reset" when necessary!

Find out what u need, and give it to urself.
