It shouldn't come as a total shock when u hear "life is unfair". No one said it would be n really, it's not meant to be, or else we'd all be super smart, super successful, super whatever-u-can-think-of, but in a sense, we'd also all be "equally super", which means technically, no one's really "super" anything anymore. Right? Anyways, what was I saying? Oh right, so life is unfair. Yah, u can stand there n sulk, complain, yell, cry, curse, throw tantrums all u want as long as u want, except, that's not gonna change a thing. The world will just keep spinning n everyone will have moved onward leaving u there to "have ur alone time n figure things out", n when u finally do, u can catch up with the rest of us. That's when u realize, even with the unfair cards u've been dealt with, u can still play the game that we call "life".
Speaking in a realm I'm more familiar with, sports would be a perfect example. Every athlete is entitled to a fair game- with anti-doping n same competition environment- or as fair as we can give them. But honestly, that's really all we can do. The rest is partly in their hands n partly not. Of course, the part that is involves how much they dedicate themselves to training n giving themselves the best to perform the best. All that is doable on their part. On the other hand, u can't control how u are built- ur height, the length of ur arms or legs, potential muscle growth- basically, ur physique. Sometimes, u can even throw in considerations like time, place, opportunity. All of which are simply, "the cards u've been dealt". So what if u don't hv the best coach in the world? Doesn't mean u don't hv a chance to play ur best. So what if u do have the best coach in the world? Doesn't guarantee an Olympic gold medal. So what if ur talented? Without hard work n dedication, it's still a long way to go. Winning is 90% hard work, 9% talent n 1% luck.
So how can u compare urself with others when no one's really on the same starting line? Well, u can't. But u can, with urself. U can always be a better "u" n the fair part is, it's a one vs. one competition- n the winner will always be u! (Okay, that's probably not what u should focus on but it's worth being happy about! Haha) See, this is the part that I feel the need to emphasize: why do people always want to compare themselves with other people? First off, u guys don't hv the same background or personality or physique, or possibly anything in similar to be even on the same "level" for comparison. Think about it this way, u'd have to be twins growing up side by side, going through exactly the same life to make the comparison truly fair. So stop it with all the "Why does her job pay more?" "Why does he always get the girl?" "Why does my life suck?" ya-da-ya-da crap (n if ur complaing about ur life sucking, try comparing it to starving kids in africa- doesn't seem to suck so much now, does it?) But I do hv to mention that being in a competitive sport doesn't give u the option to compete with urself. Even so, if that's where u choose to be, then u'll hv to deal with what ur dealt with n use it to the best of ur abilities. For the rest of us non-professionals, don't pick random n unnecessary competitions with others (as much as it promotes better performance in some cases). Ur better off without that kinda pressure anyway.
Life isn't meant to be fair; either u pick up ur cards n play or fold them n quit cos it won't reshuffle just for u.
