Dear pipsqueaks,
apparently, it was malaysia day on sunday! (i kept thinking it was the holiday at the end of August, but that was..their confederation day?) they hv way too many holidays here, i can't keep track! it's funny but i don't enjoy long weekends. for one, it gets WAY to crowded in Times Square. on sunday, they had a malaysian day celebration presentation at the main entrance, a martial arts competition on the lower ground open atrium (which is actually RIGHT behind the stage of the main floor presentation, but just one floor down), and some k-pop gathering on the 2nd floor (which was right beside the stage of the main floor presentation, but just one floor up). seriously, who does the planning around here?! there must be some policy that prevents over-occupying the mall with events...cos in that crowd, i can't imagine how i'd make it to the door if an emergency were to occur. but seriously, turning people-phobic here!
so anyway, yesterday morning was so B-E-A-UTIFUL that i made up my mind to head to jusco (which is kinda like walmart/superstore) to add some stuff to my storage unit (don't worry, i'm not like those people on "extreme couponing" who use literally a whole garage as their storage...i just hv my little cubby!). so i got mr.awesome prepped for the day's mini trip. since the weather was so nice, i decided to wear my sneakers for once since i brought quite a few pairs over n never really got a chance to wear them. so began my trip on KL mrt n let's just say, i desperately miss singapore mrt. i can't remember being outdoor so much in public transit...i mean, now i think about it, most mrt systems travel under ground. but not in KL. enjoy waiting in the malaysian weather people! okay, i should be fair n say that it does help to be outdoors when the weather's not too bad. don't mind the cool breeze while waiting. (though it REALLY needs to work on connecting stations- hving to scan out n THEN scan in again to transfer to the other line is just INCONVENIENT. n it's not really a "transfer" if we hv to scan out, walk a block, buy another ticket, n enter to board. it's not just another line; it's practically another system. JUST SAYIN')
even so, i did make it to my destination...without getting lost. after walking around n picking up a few items, i got ready to head back for lunch, n really, i should hv seen this coming. i mean, i brought my umbrella, didn't i?! i did~ but it didn't help i was wearing my sneakers!!! O-M-G. it was close to storming out n if there's one thing u should know about KL, u can trip walking on the street cos it's full of ditches & holes. so at this rate, those would be mini puddles/ponds! i...i can't do that to my sneakers. it's like finally taking a child out to play in the park & forcing them to do it even if it rains. that's just pure evil, so i had to think of another plan- waiting it out wasn't gonna fly cos it wasn't one of those "will die down" sorta rain n after half n hour, i kinda gave up. walking around in loops, it came to me! i was in jusco, so why don't i just buy another pair of flipflops?! (since the one i hv is nearing the end of its service anyway- will definitely host a retirement party when i decide to pull it from the shoe force). so i head to the flipflop section n picked one out. soon enough, i was on my way home!
see, it's always when u think u've got it ALL sorted out that something goes wrong. but that's the excitement in life, isn't it? if it always goes according to plan, then we're all just mini robots running our turns. so, embrace the change. things usually happen faster than u can plan them anyway, so why bother? (okay, i'm not saying "don' t bother planning at all", but rather, "have a plan, but know it may not go as u wanted, n don't kill urself over it if it doesn't"). we're made to be adjustable. tho, i do hv to say, hving to wet my feet up to my ankles in my new flipflops just to get through a pond to reach the mrt station on a overhead bridge...was my limit. never had i had to WALK through a POND to get anywhere. *sigh* well, u know what they say, there's a first time for everything!
the "adjustables" will undoubtedly survive all that stands in their way.
